Leading the Customer Service team is one of True's shining stars, Melissa Taylor, Director of Marketing and Customer Care. Here's more about Melissa and why she finds working with us so special.

How long have you worked for True Natural Gas?

I joined True's team in 2003. It's hard to believe I've worked here for 19 years—the time has just flown by!

What is your favorite part of working here?

The camaraderie with my coworkers is amazing. I don't think I've ever worked with such a great team.

What’s the most unique part about working here?

I admire the company’s culture that's based on honesty, integrity, and transparent business practices. I also admire leadership's dedication to their employees.

What is your biggest career lesson so far?

It's a good thing I love to learn because so far what I've found is key is this: never stop learning.

What is your favorite part of providing customer service to True Natural Gas customers?

I love helping others and making what might have been a rough road easy to navigate. For instance, it's not always easy to set up natural gas service when you've moved—moving is a very stressful thing at best, so if someone calls with some frayed nerves, I really like that our team will take care of them and relieve their nerves.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working?

My very favorite thing to do outside of work is to spend time with my beautiful grandkids. They're a gift.

What’s your favorite place in the world?

I've always been a water baby. I don't care if it's at the lake or at the beach. I just love being on the water.

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

When I was a kid, I always dreamed of being a flight attendant and traveling the world. I guess the Good Lord had another idea!

What is your motto or personal mantra?

With all my heart, I believe this: My values remain more important than public opinion.

What is one food that you cannot resist?

I'm not ashamed to admit it's fried chicken. Can you blame me?

What tv show/movie are you ashamed to admit that you love?

The Princess Diaries.  It's got everything—romance, comedy, fantasy, and it stars Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway, both of whom I adore.
